well we made up there and back. not what i was expecting of an open house, but thats what it was. they had some good info on all the data they collected, leading to this proposal. the rangers we egger to talk with everyone, a whole lot different than on the trail for some reason. however, all these rangers were "new" faces to me, maybe a new, nicer group is in the division now. i was a little disappointed in the turn out, thou the wheelers out weighted the trout boys, trout unlimited is behind this.

anyway, i highly suggest that you at least email or mail the forestry service with your comments by july 9, 2008, thou i don't think stuff like "yo man, don't close the trails" will help. the "no visible sediment" thing is the real kicker, we need solutions for it.

Dr. Mark Fly, a professor at the University of Tennessee is doing a survey of people that have been to tellico for ohv and trout fishing. i don't know which side he is on, but here's his bio page from UT. http://fwf.ag.utk.edu/personnel/mfly.htm maybe email him, contact on link, for a copy of his survey. ask for the off-site ohv for tellico one he has several different versions. the deadline for it is july 7 thou.

Man I was disappointed with the turnout!
I expected hundreds of people to show up to show support for the sport we enjoy and to help influence the decision on closing the
best parts of the premier East coast off-road area.
Years from now when people wonder why all the best areas are closed.............
