Suzuki TL 1000R
It sure isn't the prettiest in the world but give me a few months and a little bit of time. Bought it because I am tired of the traffic jams on my way to work, and with this little thing, I will get the head of line at lights as well as the motorcycle lane that goes all the way to work. No more traffic for me. I got a really good deal on it and couldn't pass it up.
This is how it sits now, I have the fairings but need to do some work to the bike and get a JCI before I can ride it.
If anyone knows of anyone who has one they are parting out let me know, I could use some more parts for this thing.

looks sweet james. im glad you decided to take the riders safety course. it is dangerous for sure and that thing you got there is a monster. get VERY comfy with it before you crack that throttle. maybe with the throttle being hand operated you wont be able to be "lead footed"

Well that is how I got the scars on the left side of my face/neck. elifinooo:rolleyes:
I do plan on taking it easy with this thing and getting comfortable with it before I get into the throttle ANY.

Not a bad deal on the bike. It needs a battery and a JCI Inspection. Should be a few hundred or so. Going to register it on Tuesday and take it for a spin sometime next week. Think I am going to start prepping it for paint before I leave too. I am thinking flat balck with a punisher Logo on it.

Well I went to get it registered today and no luck due to the JCI being expired right now. The guy is going to have it de-register and just transfer it to me that way. I will have to pay for the JCI on it and road tax and what ever but the good thing is, the guy gave me my money back and just gave me the bike.
He told me when I picked up the fairings for it today that if I didn't get it registered it wouldn't be a problem to part it out. Said he put a few grand in it on aftermarket parts. 700 for an exhaust and like 500 on the brakes.
I am just stoked now, Free bike, needs a little TLC and a bike shop down the road who JCI's it last said he would do it for 200 and make sure it passes all the inspection with the aftermarket exhaust on it. It is getting towed to the house here in a few so I am hanging around waiting on the tow truck to show up and take it home.

He just gave it to me. I had given him 200 for the bike originally and he said after hearing all the other information from the Vehicle registration office, he gave me my money back and said you can have the bike for free. :D

I have known the guy for a month or so. We went out drinking in Cambodia the last deployment. He said he honestly just wants to go ahead and get rid of it cause he is leaving soon. He has 3 more in the states.
You can't leave the island if you still have a vehicle registered in Japan.
is that the one with the v-twin?
Yep, has the V twin. :D:D I will get a short video of it this weekend once I put a new battery in it. He said the pipes were beyond LOUD:eek:

A buddy of mine used to own one the first year they came out ,I was more in to drag racing but he was more of a lay it down in the curves kinda guy.I rode it a few times and man I tell you I think I stayed on the back tire more than both.Real strong low end torque.I think you will love it.

He said it was hard to keep it on both tires most of the time. Was telling me stories of him riding it and all I could say was WOW. Not me, well maybe for the first 6 months or so.
I am looking at bringing it back with me when I come. Doubt I would trade it for rockies though. It has the stamp for the NHSTA, (or whatever the abbreviation is), required to bring it back to the states, I just need some questions answered about titling the thing.
